Ronin’s First Christmas!

What a beautiful time I had! I love Christmas! I got all kind of cool things! Santa came in the Christmas Eve because I was such a good pooch and brought gifts for ME and for my humans. Let’s see what I got: a new rubber chicken (oh yes! It’s a big chicken), a funny Frisbee, a collar and a leash (because I’m not a baby I got new ones for a big puggy), a pressed rawhide bone, a rubber doggy (that’s from my human grandma), treats and a jacket! Oh yes you read right! A jacket! I look so funny! At first I was very upset because I didn’t like it on me, but now I tolerate it… My humans were so amused!
After Santa came, we had a lovely dinner; I ate all kind of goodies. My humans were very careful not to give me too much because I didn’t want a tummy ache on Christmas. On Christmas Day we watched some Christmas movies and we ate some more. :)
I want Christmas everyday! Now we are preparing for New Year… I hear that we’ll stay up all the night and eat, sing, dance, watch TV! That’s cool!
SANTA CAME! SANTA CAME!!!
These are all for ME? YES?? Wow!!!
Don't I look funny?
Cool Pooch!
Chicken legs! Chicken legs!

Christmas Traditions

Hello everyone! Three days until Christmas! Can you believe it? Well lots of things will take place these days… many involve food. My humans made a menu for the Christmas feast. Oh and what a menu! Soup, sausages, sarmale (I’m going to tell you about them), stakes, French fries… oh boy, oh boy… salads… pickles. All kind of sweets…
Carolers are everywhere: on the streets, at our door… and I’m barking all the time! :P Some carolers look really funny and act goofy too: they have drums and they sing and dance and one of them is dresses like a bear or a goat. There are a lot of kids and they sing nice songs about Christmas. And again I bark; my humans tell me to shut up, but I’m trying to sing too!
And now something about “sarmale”; they are traditionally prepared in Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Romania, Turkey, Ukraine and other countries in Southeastern Europe. “Sarma” means wrapping or rolling, and it comes from Turkish. The most popular way to prepare sarmale is to use sour cabbage leaves. How can you make sarmale??? Simple!
You mince some meat - pork, veal – with rice, onions, spices, you mix them very well and you roll them into sour cabbage leaves. You put them to boil with water and some tomato juice for a few hours. And then you serve them to your family on X-mas Eve!!
Yummie!

Where is Ronin the Pug?

Today my humans installed the last Christmas lights in our house. I love them! So when they tried to put them I decided I wanted to chew my bone on the lights. I’m cute, aren't I? They were warm and all the colours looked so good… so why should they be up there on the wall, when they can be right under me?! :)

What’s This? What’s This? It’s Colour Everywhere!

Well my friends, something happened today! My humans were all merry and jolly. They put a green thing in the middle of MY living room; all kind of boxes appeared from no where full of little bubbles of glass with lots of colours. I started asking “What’s this? What’s this?”… Finally one of my humans shown me and said it’s a X-mas ornament… cool I said.
They put some little lighting in the tree… and so much other things… Santas, Teddy Bears, some little soldiers… they mumbled that they were from Tchaikovsky's “The Nutcracker”, all kind o shining stuff.
And after that all kind of characters appeared: Santa, The Snowman, Rudolph, Elves, Little Angels…
Oh and another thing happened! Some people appeared at the door singing! My humans called them carolers! And they sang so nice!
What can I tell you?! I love Christmas! And guess what? There’s more! Can’t wait for Christmas Eve!

OK stay calm! I'm investigating this! And this? What is this? Can I eat it? Plzzzz let me eat it!
Hi! I'm Ronin and I want to chew you!

I've Been Christmas Tagged!

Oh boy, oh boy!!! I’ve been Christmas tagged by Gidget and Duke! That’s so cool!!!!

Ok… For Christmas I would love to get:
1. A new play house because the first one I destroyed :P
2. The exclusive right to destroy everything I want (especially shoes and rattan chairs)
3. Toys and treats that last forever
4. Pots of flowers for me to do anything I want with them – rip, eat and chew (without my humans running after me)
5. A new doggy brother or sister for me to play with (but I'm not very sure about this because I like being the only "child")

I really, really don’t want for Christmas:
1. Trips to the vet and shots.
2. Yelled at for pooping where I shouldn’t
3. Vitamins (bleah I hate them)
4. A new pair of claws for my nails (the first ones broke and I’m so happy)
5. Cleaning the ears (another activity which I love…NOT)

I would like to Christmas tag: Sachi, Willow and Belle, Ronak, Buster, Bandit and Paisley!
The Rules: The player of this game starts with "3 things he/ she would love to get for Christmas" and also has to list "3 things he/ she definitely does not want to get for Christmas". Then he/she tags 5 friends and list their names. The ones who get tagged need to write on their blogs about their Christmas wishes, as well as state this rule clearly, then tag 5 more victims. And the one who tags need to leave a comment that says "you've been Christmas tagged!" in their comments and tell them to read your blog.

A Very Bad Day

Well guys, yesterday I had a very, very bad day! My humans and I went to the vet for my anti-rabies shot… I was so scared, I was shivering and I didn’t want to “talk” to anybody! My humans tried to cheer me up but I was too upset. Finally we got home and I was so happy… but not for long! After a few hours my head started to swollen up!!! My eyes, my face and after a couple of minutes my body too were full of bubbles! And it itched! I tried to make it go away, but I couldn’t! My humans were so scared! I looked like this ( but my head was much swollen up): http://pets.webshots.com/photo/1401405040053512775eydbDN. They called my vet and she said that it’s a reaction and they should give me “Claritine”… And they did! They did! After an hour my body came back to normal. But I was so sleepy… What a day!
The only good news is that my belly-button is ok! It closed and I don’t need an operation or anything like that! :)
Today, because I was such a good boy when I was sick, my humans bought me a new bone for me to chew and a new doggy bowl.

The Little Frog-Pug

Well guys, I’m very curious about the next week! I’m trying to behave very good because I don’t want Saint Nick to forget about me! About Saint Nicholas

Well I promised you that I’ll tell you about the other Jolly Saint who brings gifts on December 6! Here they celebrate Saint Nicholas (you know Saint Nick). All the little girls and boys clean their shoes and place them near the window and then they go to sleep! On the morning of December 6 they’ll find their shoes full of GIFTS! Oh yes they do, they do!!! Toys, candies, games! Really, really cool!
But you ask: Who is Saint Nick??? Well my humans say they know a little about him. Saint Nicholas was actually a real person and he was a bishop in Myra, a city in Turkey, at the beginning of fourth century. But how did he become known for bringing gifts? There are several references to the Saint and one of them is about three young sisters who were very, very poor; their parents were too poor that they did not have the money to help their daughters to get married. Because Bishop Nicholas was to shy and couldn’t give the money directly, he tossed a bag of gold into the poor house at night for the first sister to get married; when the second girl prepared to marry, she got a bag full of gold. When the third girl was ready to marry, her father wanted to know who was the mysterious person. He stayed and watched and saw the bishop when he dropped a bag of gold into the house through the window. When Nicholas realized that he has been seen he asked the father not to tell anyone, but soon everyone found out and every time when someone received an unexpected gift they said it’s from Saint Nicholas!
The Dutch veneration of 'Sinter Klaus' was brought to North America with the Dutch settlers and eventually became the story of Santa Claus that everyone knows.
Today Saint Nicholas is celebrated in Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Poland, Denmark, Romania, Greece, Italy, Russia. Even the naughty children receive a willow switch or pieces of coal.
I was a good little boy so I’ll get really nice things… no willows or coals for me!
So I can’t wait 6 of December! Kisses everyone!!!

What's that??? What's that? I have to rescue those little guys stuck in there!

About the belly button

Hey guys! I have a big problem and I need your help! My belly button didn’t close till now. The vet said that we have to wait until I’m 6 months to see what happens to it; the belly buttons of my brothers and sisters closed at 6-8 weeks… I’m the only one with a “slow” belly button… The vet said that it is a little umbilical hernia and that the procedure of closing it is not a big operation. But my humans are really, really worried because of the anesthesia… They read a lot of things that happened to little pugs because of the anesthesia, but also that the procedure has to be done at an early age. In books says that the procedure is necessary if the umbilical hernia is a medium one (a little umbilical hernia or a big one are not a problem)… My humans don’t know what to do… my next vet appointment is in December when I’ll have my anti-rabies shot and then the vet will decide if I need an operation.
So guys if you plzzz find/know any articles published on the internet or if you know something about this tell me!!!

I'm 5 Months!!!

Hey guys! Today it’s again my birthday! Oh yes it is!!! I’m 5 months now! What a big boy I am! I was a good pooch so I’m sure I’ll get something nice from my humans!
Yesterday I was playing with a toy and I felt something on my mouth: it was another tooth! A big tooth! My humans got it before I could deliver it to my tummy…. Why are they so happy about a tooth? I don’t get it… Again I became Babuska… Really funny guys! I can tell you that I lost almost all my baby teeth! I’m really happy because the Tooth Fairy makes a very good job… My new teeth look very nice and strong! :)
My humans are starting to prepare for something called Christmas… I heard that Santa brings nice things… They bought some things for the X-mas Tree… I can’t wait to see what a X-mas Tree is… Well will see!
It’s my birthday! Oh yes it’s my birthday!

Look at my baby tooth guys! One of my humans managed to get one while we were playing today! I didn’t feel a thing and all my humans were happy! :) I swallowed all the other teeth… I don’t know why… If I knew how happy my humans would be if they got one! Oh I forgot to tell you!!! It seems that Santa gave me my two front teeth in advance for being such a good pooch!

Hello everyone! I'm still having problems with my teeth… it seems I’m losing them all… And my gums are really painful… Poor ME!!! Because of the teeth I’m sometimes grumpy and nervous. So I try to bite my toys… to bite! With what? I look like an old man… Because of that my humans call me “Babuska”… Well on the other hand yesterday I got a T-shirt just for me!! Oh yes I did, I did!!! And is customized… it has my blog's name on it!!! My human left in the morning and a couple of hours later appeared with the T-shirt! I told you that humans are funny! My humans even said that they would attach my picture on the T-shirt… Everyone loves me! I’m so modest, you see!
In the evening one of my humans tried to eat something… but I started begging… oh and when I beg you have to do it my way! So of course after I gave some puppy look and whining I got some treats!

Some Posing! Now go away, I'm busy!
Puppy look... What can u do?
Gimmie, gimmie!!! Plz, plz, plzzzzzz!

All I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth!

Well guys I lost my two front teeth and I really, really need them… I look so weird without my little teeth… and I can’t bite anything right. My humans tried to find my baby teeth… but I think I swallowed them… Hope that my new ones will last longer. Yesterday one of my humans put me on a chair at the table… of course I was very curios if I could find something to eat so I tried to climb on it… But I didn’t find a thing for me… maybe next time.

Today I got a new mattress because the old one was too tiny… I’m a big boy now! Oh yes I am! The new mattress is very soft and big just for me!

Now because I ate and my tummy is full I need my beauty sleep. Maybe I’ll find the Tooth Fairy… Do you think she works for doggies too?? Well if you find her send her to me... I need my teeth... See yaaaaa!!
